Checkaroo.ĭepending on which house you choose will be the stronghold you receive. Regardles of which House we're talking about.ĭuring the Main Quest you will have to go to all the houses, to become the Hortator. That means that if you choose to join one House, you will never be accepted in another. The only thing you must be aware of is this: regardless of your actual race, and of in fact being adopted into a House, you will always be considered of that House's bloodline, even when you get expelled. Although the Hlaalu will be easier to forgive if you PAY UP! The Hlaalu and Redoran are less forgiving. Killing all the Telvanni council members, makes you Telvanni Hortator by default I actually used that to my advantage in becoming the Hortator.

In that respect it doesn't even matter if you're Telvanni or not. The Telvanni don't give a crap, for them it's POWER! If you can take a Telvanni's loot without getting killed by the previous owner, then you clearly DESERVE the loot, and the other Telvanni will at best wonder why you didn't KILL the victim.

The Redoran are about law and honor, and VERY tough to convince that you're worthy, especially if you're not Dunmer. They also accept non-Dunmer much easier than any other House. The Hlaalu are about profit, and they are related to the Duke (who is a Hlaalu). It's mostly a choice of where you want to take your character. So the stronghold issue won't help you decide. This house will be named "Rethan Manor" (I know because the old Carnice lives there).

Well, the Telvanni will also build you a stronghold: an actual Telvanni Tower of your own.Īnd the Hlaalu will build something for you too: more in the style of what you see in Balmora, and it's built on the Odai plateau, close to Hla Oad.
